I lived in a house on this lot when I was a student at John B. Dey Elementary School. My twin sister and I have the best memories of walking to the end of the street and fishing and crabbing in the inlet. We drove to the other end of the street, across the highway, and swam and fished on the bay. We walked over to the First Landing Park and played Tarzan with our friends from a another neighborhood nearby.

I remember names of families and teachers I wish I could see today, but this was a beautiful place to grow-up and I am so glad they are restoring the whole area.

I am a teacher in SC today. I tell my students about this place each year and its history.
