Yet another fun filled Sailboat race on the action packed Elizabeth River, south of Hampton Roads harbor. I crewed on a Columbia 40 out of Willoughby, and we brought home a 3rd place in our class (Cruising 2). Not quite the finish of last year's race (we pulled in a 1st place trophy) but we'll take it. There was much fun had by all except for one fellow at the post race party.

Looks like big fun!
Mark In his younger days and until he was handicapped with arthritis my husband raced both Sunfish and 470's. He has never sailed a keel boat in his life and has never driven a power boat. He learned to sail in a rowboat when he was 6 years old. Karen
Thanks for looking Karen. I have some friends in N. VA that are avid sailors. I sailed in Puerto Rico as a kid, my family shared a CAL 25, but then I had 20+ year absence from sailing. I love it, and fortunately now a good friend has a boat. -Mark
I love this event. A good time was had by all this year.
Just found this site and wanted to give a shout out from the Dutch Treat crew - we'll see you again next year!!
Looking forward to the "Down the Bay" race, http://seaknots.ning.com/events/chesapeake-down-the-bay-race and http://www.hamptonyc.com/downthebay/. The 60th running of a race that has not been run in a few years. It should be fun. -Mark
